Here is a batch of songs I produced early in the summer of 2018. These songs were inspired by the changing of the season and the mix of emotions that tags along. All songs were recorded onto my laptop using Logic Pro 9. Percussion was programmed using my Korg Volca Sample. Synth sounds were created on the Arturia Microbrute and Korg Volca FM with some additional plug-ins from Logic. The primary sound on Gloom was created running an electric guitar through the Microbute.
After my initial recordings I let the songs sit for a few months and tried them out on a couple live sets. After hearing them in a couple different environments with some variations on part levels as well as having multiple good conversations about audio production with some of my more experienced peers, I felt like I was able to have a better understanding of what is going on sonically with these songs and how I might re work them into a more presentable piece.
Obviously I am a ways from achieving any sort of true professional sound, but I wanted to share this batch with you all as they are! I hope you find some time to put these on in your kitchen, on your commute, while you run, while you work, at your dinner party, or maybe even during your DJ set and enjoy my melancholic musings.
